August 3, 2022 Committee Meeting hosted by Kathy and Steve Tylee
Post By Audra Moore
Thank you to everyone that was able to attend last night's meeting, nice turnout! So wonderful to see the community organizing and gathering as a united front. Looking forward to a potluck or something to kick off our committee and get to know everyone better.
First to get through the most pressing issue of the N. Seabreeze lot rezoning, so here's a breakdown of what's to come and the more people that can help on all levels the better our chances at making a change.
Sub-Committees Formed: We welcome more volunteers for the following sub-committees that will gather information to present to the group in order to inform board members and commissioners of the county how the proposed rezoning is not beneficial.
Floodplain Issues -- coordinated by Sandy McKeithan & Kathy Tylee
• Oweita, former Army Core of Engineers retiree, will help point us in the right direction of who to contact for flood map information.
• Sandy, Kathy & anyone interested (the more people, the better) meet with NHC Senior Engineer (who may also be the Floodplain Manager) See below for meeting information
Environment/Historical Value -- coordinated by Ruby Freeman, Sandra Ross, Rhonda Holmes and Audra Moore
Community Safety -- coordinated by ????? We need someone here! This can cover road safety/agencies like fire dept, etc.,"Healthy Communities"

This case is 99% confirmed as coming before the Planning Board on 9/1/22
Remember, we need to have our comments and submissions in before that since the planning board meets to review on 8/30.
Julian Griffee (Planning Dept) confirmed that they have the new rezone requests for 924 and 1001 N Seabreeze.
It is being reviewed now to be sure it is complete. Assuming it is complete, it is slated for the 9/1 Planning Board meeting.
It will be posted 2-3 weeks prior for public comment. When it is posted, we will send out the link.
Public comment can also be directed to: Julian Griffee (current planner) at jgriffee@nhcgov.com
and/or his supervisor, Robert Farrell (senior planner) at rfarrell@nhcgov.com
